How Our Power Wheelbarrow Kit Works

Fitting most wood-handled wheelbarrows, our kits are compatible with Milwaukee and Dewalt batteries.
The installation process can be completed in just 10-20 minutes using basic hand tools. Here’s how the retrofit works:
Replace your current wheel and brackets with the Smart-barrow Wheel.
Install the Battery/Controller plate between the wheelbarrow’s handles, using the existing bolts that hold the legs in place.
Connect the controller to the wheel and secure the short cable raceway to keep the wire in place.
Attach the thumb throttle mount and install the thumb throttle for easy control.
Secure the long cable raceway to protect the throttle wire.
That’s it—slide in a set of batteries, and you’re ready to tackle any job.
With two 5AH batteries, your power wheelbarrow kit can get you through an entire workday in most cases, often with battery life to spare. The versatility of the Smart-Barrow allows you to use either Dewalt or Milwaukee Batteries, We recommend using the 5AH size as the larger batteries simply add additional weight. The motor is built to last, with a life expectancy exceeding 3,000 hours, ensuring your electric wheelbarrow kit provides reliable service for years.

Important Fitment Notes. Read Before Ordering.
At the moment, We offer two main kit models, and two wheel sizes to fit the following Singe Wheel wheelbarrows
- Standard Kit – Fits Scenic RD and Jackson wheelbarrows, This kit may fit a few other brands with some slight modifications, Fill out the Contact Us form to verify fitment details if you have a different brand
- Brentwood Kit – Specifically designed for Brentwood wheelbarrows.
Both kits are available with a wide tire (16×6.5-8) or a narrow tire (4.80/4.00-8) Check the size your wheelbarrow currently has and order accordingly to make sure it will fit. Note – Nearly all Brentwood wheelbarrows come with the wide tire.
Dewalt or Milwaukee Batteries can be used, but no other batteries are compatible at this time
We do not have a kit for duel wheeled wheelbarrows yet, However we are working on one! Feel free to fill out the Contact Us form if you are interested in being added to the waitlist for that model.
